Our Story
For the past six years, the Northside Juneteenth Celebration has proudly honored the Juneteenth holiday with a vibrant, community-centered event in North Minneapolis. What began in 2020 as a single-day celebration held the Saturday before Juneteenth, in partnership with local organizations and community leaders, has grown into a full weekend of festivities since 2022.

Rooted in culture, joy, and togetherness, this annual gathering uplifts the legacy of Black freedom, resilience, and excellence—right here in the heart of our community. Over time, what started as a celebration has evolved into a powerful movement focused on unity, education, and cultural pride.
